Our company is sponsoring a golf tournament. We are going to be sponsoring some of the holes on the tee boxs handing out prizes. We need a game that we can play for the prizes. We have one game where the players try to hit a tennis ball into a bucket and if they get it in, they get a prize, but we need some more ideas for our other holes. Please Help with some ideas that you guys have done at golf tournaments, or just ones that you have heard of.

Let’s not forget about the all important and highly regarded closest in 2 shots. (On a par 4 or par 5.) Most alcohol consumed?

Two guys are 10+ handicap and two are 12 and 13+. Is there any good points or just general ways to help improve?
I know one guy is good with the irons and i am good of the tee box and with my three wood. I don’t know about the other two.

Different ways to play a scramble, but most important is have fun!

I’ll share how we like to play scrambles:
Tee Box when length matters: Let the golfer who is most consistent off the tee go first. Even if it’s 230 yards down the middle, it’s at least playable. The guys that follow him should be able to let it fly without worry of having to play their balls should they end up in someone’s backyard.

Tee Box when placement matters(i.e. doglegs): Same as above about the consistent golfer placing a shot in the corner. If it’s a dogleg right, let the guy who has a big, sweeping slice go all out in trying to shorten the hole.

Iron Shots: I haven’t yet found a successful pattern, but make sure the last golfer to hit can handle some pressure just in case the first 3 don’t hit the green! ;)

Putting: The worst putter needs to go first, but at least let the others know how he’s playing the putt. Tis best to let the other teammates know how the putt breaks according to the first golfer’s line.

Good luck, but have fun regardless!

My son wants to spend his birthday @ a minature golf spot but I was wondering if anyone has been to either one of these spots and how was it before I spend all this money on his party. He will be turning eight years old.

I did when I was a little younger, I thought it was a great place, I didnt want to have the birthday party there, but Im glad I did. It was a blast!

It means you can try again on shot (usually a drive) that goes awry without adding a point to your score. Usually you can only take one (maybe two) Mulligan(s) per round. Be advised, this is only for use in a friendly game – not in a tournament or other serious game. You cannot take a Mulligan if you are submitting your scores for handicapping.

The regulation for the size of a golf hole is 4.25"dia. X 4.00"deep.

No, you couldn’t design a hole cutter to cut a hole to that dimension. Smaller at the bottom than the original hole at the top?

I got Grounds Tickets for the Barclays this weekend though work… I have never been to a PGA event before where does grounds tickets allow you to go?

They allow you to go anywhere on the grounds that is open to the public: restaurants, pathways, shops, demo centers. It’s all like a big fair.

But the places you are not allowed to go to are the Clubhouse and onto the golf course itself. But tour events put fences up around the course itself, so you can go up to the fairway itself as far as the fence goes and watch.

I usually wear tennis shoes golfing but it is supposed to rain and i needed to know if it is "frowned upon" to wear baseball cleats on a golf course

Patrick S is a complete idiot..not only are baseball spikes forbidden but they will do severe damage to the green..In fact in the last 10 years golf shoes with spikes have been forbidden on any half decent golf course..Pros are allowed to use spikes in competition but most have gone to the soft soft spikes…I even doubt you can buy metal spike golf shoes anymore cause theres no market for them in the U.S. If you are a serious golfer you will invest in a pair of proper golf shoes..

I have this long drive contest thing coming up (for fun) and you can bring your own golf balls. I was just wondering what was the "hottest", longest flying ball out there now-a-days. It doesn’t have to have "feel" cause were not hitting approach shots, chipping or putting with the same ball so I just need the longest ball you can think of, even if it’s rock hard. Thanks.

Two of the longest hitters in golf use Pinnacle so I’d look into that brand.

Our hotel is sponsoring a hole at a charity golf tournament, and would like to have an activity for the golfers to do while waiting to tee off. We have ideas like the marshmallow drive and chipping into a bucket, but were wondering if anyone had any unique, fun ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

How about long drive with a Jr Club or tee off with a club with the opposite handed club. Also Blindfold tee shot is fun.
