I have a friend, John Hogden of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, playing in the British SeniorAmateur golf tournament this week. I cannot locate a site that posts results so I can see how he is doing.

this is the best I could find. ok, the only thing I could find ;-)

I recently played in a 4 man scramble at the Four Seasons in Dallas Texas. This is the TPC course played during the Byron Nelson Tournament. Anyone who volunteered at the tournament was able to participate in the best ball scramble. The winning team consisting of 2 women and 2 men supposed shot a 51 on the par 70 course. Just seems a little fishy to me. Making a birdie on every hole except the one they eagled!! Come on that is a little far fetched. I’m just curious how low the scores usually drop during a scramble. This was the first I have ever played in. Definitely fun, but a little disappointing at the end when the scores are read out.

I DON’T THINK ANYONE HAS TURNED IN A TRUTHFUL SCRAMBLE SCORE CARD IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME. I HAVE PLAYED IN MANY AND HAVE SEEN SCORES AS LOW AS 53, THE HONESTY OF GOLF GOES AWAY IN A SCRAMBLE, THEY JUST WANT TO WIN…

I am hosting a scramble and looking for some fun things to do with/for the bachelor while golfing.

Go to vegas. If that is out of the question, make sure your group has stocked coolers for each cart. Provide a few golf balls with some choice names for each of the players imprinted. An engraved ball marker is also a neat gift. Cigars and flasks are nice gifts as well.
For the game, give each team 20 feet of string and a pair of scissors. They can use as much of the string to move the ball (out of a hazard, into the hole) and just cut off what they use. Prize for longest string left over (they don’t know that though). Long drives and closest to the pins are always good as well as closest to the pin in 3 shots on a par 5. Another game for scrambles is for every birdie the team shoots, they draw a card from a deck at the end. Then each team can turn a card and bet against the other teams. High hand wins.
Good luck and congratulations.

its called sumin like muglains. but its not mulligans golf thing. please help!! it has those cool go cart courses thingy that u see in the freeway in cali. please help!
i saw it in the 60 freeway im pretty sure

If your talking about those cool go carts, then you must be talking about Speedzone off the 60 freeway between Azuza Ave. and Fullerton Road.

That place has at least 3-4 go cart tracks and even a place to do some drag racing — as well as the traditional golf and arcade.

1. Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.
2. “I wish I could play my normal game…just once.”
3. “Golf is harder than baseball. In golf, you have to play your foul balls.”
4. If you find you do not mind playing golf in the rain, the snow, even during a hurricane, here’s a valuable tip: your life is in trouble.
5. Golfers who try to make everything perfect before taking the shot rarely make a perfect shot.
6. The term “mulligan” is really a contraction of the phrase “maul it again.”
7. A “gimmie” can best be defined as an agreement between two golfers… neither of whom can putt very well.
8. An interesting thing about golf is that no matter how badly you play; it is always possible to get worse.
9. Golf’s a hard game to figure. One day you’ll go out and slice it and shank it, hit into all the traps and miss every green. The next day you go out and for no reason at all you really stink.
10. I play in the low 80s. If it’s any hotter than that, I won’t play.
11. If your best shots are the practice swing and the “gimme” Putt, you might wish to reconsider this game.
12. Achieving a certain level of success in golf is only important if you can finally enjoy the level you’ve reached after you’ve really reached it.
13. Golf is the only sport where the most feared opponent is you.
14. Golf is like marriage: If you take yourself too seriously it won’t work and both are Expensive.
15. The best wood in most golfers’ bags is the pencil.
16. To some golfers, the greatest handicap is the ability to add correctly.
17. In golf, some people tend to get confused with all the numbers … they shoot a “six,” yell “fore” and write “five.”
18. Swing easy. Hit hard.
19. If you find yourself pleased that you locate more balls in the rough than you actually have lost, your focus is totally wrong and your personality might not be right for golf… it is also just a matter of time before the IRS investigates your business.
20. Why is it twice as difficult to hit a ball over water than sand?
21. Golf! You hit down to make the ball go up. You swing left and the ball goes right. The lowest score wins. And on top of that, the winner buys the drinks!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again
Golf is the best way to spoil a good walk

I am wondering how many acres you would need to be able to build a full 18 hole golf course as i am trying to think of ways to utilise my farm at this time.

This year’s open championship is at carnoustie which stretches over 176 acres

Players are expected to both understand the rules and etiquette of the game. Golf is a game that relies not only on skill and talent, but also on proper conduct and sportsmanship. Good etiquette on the green will ensure maximum enjoyment of the game for all players.

Golf is gentleman’s and gentlewoman’s sport. Players should take the time to study the rules of the game. The rules serve to improve the game by sustaining the pace of play, maintaining the quality of the golf course, and ensuring the safety of the players. The spirit of the game depends on players demonstrating discipline and sportsmanship at all times regardless of how competitive they are. If you are new to the game, or just need to refresh your golf etiquette, here are some basic considerations that will help keep the game enjoyable for you and those around you.

Golfers must always play without delay, in order to maintain the pace of the game. The pace of the game requires players to ready to hit the ball when their turn arrives. The order of play is always the farthest from the whole first. Players should carry two uniquely marked balls. In order to reduce the time for taking a shot, players should study the shot while the other players are preparing to hit. A player should always hit the shot within 45 seconds of the previous player’s stroke. Golfers should never crowd the previous group or lag behind.

On the green, golfers must fix their ball marks with care. They should not leave bare ground or smooth surface where the ball mark was. Golfers should never dig under a ball mark or leverage the soil upward. Players should always remove the peg from the tee after hitting. It is a breach of etiquette to leave a tee or push the tee into the ground. On the bunkers, players should leave the bunker as they found it. A few strokes of the rake will smooth the sand and remove any trace of footprints. The golden rule is to leave the golf course as the player found it and avoid excessive damage.

Also, only one player is permitted on the tee at a time.

I saw this once on ESPN in the late 90’s. A player with an over-sized driver would hit a golf ball towards a group of players that each held something that looked like a stop sign. These players would attempt to knock the ball down.

Honkindriver paddlesmashin. I think it is an exhibition sport at this year’s Bizarro Games.
