Help me with my golf game.?
I’m a pretty athleteic guy. Played baseball and football all my life and hit clean-up for my varsity baseball team for 2 years. I am 21 years old and have been playing for about 3 months (Beg. of Feb ‘07). I am left-handed and my biggest problem is I hit everything to the left. I have read Harvey Penick’s book and watched a couple DVD’s. I have scratch golfer buddies and they told me I have an outside-in swing that’s why I slice. Also I drive only about 240, which I should be hitting longer. Also, have taken one lesson. I am just basically here asking for any help or advice that you would be able to tell me. It feels like at times I take 2 or 3 step forwards than a couple days later I take 2 or 3 steps back. My best score is a 101 (all scores I keep are legit make all putts and no mulligans). My goal is to shoot consistantly in the 80’s by the end of the year. I believe that is attainable, just let me know any help you could think of for me to help reach that goal. Thanks
OK, tell me something, how well do you really think that you can play this crazy game of golf with one lesson and no practice at the driving range?
The reason for you to slice the ball can come from many of things, like your set up, what kind of grip do you have on the club (strong, neutral, weak grip), how far you stand from the ball, the ball position, not clearing your hips out of the way in the down swing, your tempo, not shifting your weight, not making a full shoulder turn, you could be holding the club handle too tight, you could be starting your down swing with your arms and shoulder instead with your legs.
Trying to impress your golf buddy (that’s is a no! no!) to Its nice that you’re friend offer you some assistance but I see that you need more than one lesson with a pro instructor and visit the driving range more often. This way you can built a good solid foundation with the basic down and you can enjoy the game.
wats that one amusement park?
its called sumin like muglains. but its not mulligans golf thing. please help!! it has those cool go cart courses thingy that u see in the freeway in cali. please help!
i saw it in the 60 freeway im pretty sure
If your talking about those cool go carts, then you must be talking about Speedzone off the 60 freeway between Azuza Ave. and Fullerton Road.
That place has at least 3-4 go cart tracks and even a place to do some drag racing — as well as the traditional golf and arcade.

what does ‘he shot in the eighties’ mean in:?
n August 2nd, the second-to-last day of the conference, Bill Clinton arrived. That afternoon, he played a round of golf with Ginsberg and Col Allan. With the help of several mulligans (golf: the chance to replay your last shot), he shot in the eighties.
it means he took between 80 to 89 strokes to complete 18 holes of golf….it also means he cheated to do it if he’s taking a lot of mulligans…he probably couldn’t break 100 without them(mulligans).
how honest are you when playing golf?
do you use mulligans?, do you penalize yourself?, etc.
Some times I will use mulligans(may be 2-3 times a round).
BUT DON’T CHEAT TOO MUCH!
Jack Nicklaus Takes A Few Mulligans…
Funny clip during a pro-am practice round at the 2006 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club. Jack Nicklaus decides he deserves a few mulligans. After all, it is his tournament so he should be able to do what he wants to do.

Ideas for fundraising WITHIN a golf scramble.?
For my high school cheer program we do a golf scramble every year. We do $100 hole sponsorships from businesses in order to make our money. We also do mulligans. In past years we have done string but that has lead to cheating which has brought us many complaints so we decided to remove that this year. Our new idea in return is a blackjack table in which they pay 5$ and if they win they get to move up from the blue tees to the white tees to hit thier shot (this is on a hole that they could only make across the water from the white t)
we are trying to think of any other ideas like this to put at on a hole. we also give away a car if you make a hole in one on a par three, we do raffle prizes, free lunch, and free t-shirt.
any ideas on other small thigns to make money???
there are lots of things you can do.
ive seen
1. On a par 3 charge 5 bucks to try to get within a flag stick of the hole. if they do give them a sleeve of good golf balls(like pro v’s)that usually does well.
2. set up a long putt (like 100 footer) and charge 10 bucks for 3 putts at it. the clostest wins a putter or a wedge (you can get either for about 100 bucks)
3.if your doing a scramble pick a par 4 hole and have 4 cheerleaders sit there, when a group is on the green offer to putt for the team for 20 bucks, the sales point here is if one of the cheerleaders makes it it would count as a 2 if the cheerleaders don’t make it they get to putt from where the closest putt ended up so basically they pay for a birdie.
but theres a chance for an eagle and a skin.
4. have your adviser sit by a par 3 green and for another 20 the adviser stand in a circle and toss 3 balls toward the pin the team gets to putt from where the adviser throws one in close (paying for a birdie again, with the chance for a hole in one if he or she tosses one in.
ive seen these work in tourneys and make a load of money for the organization hope this helps
Do you cheat at golf?
It has been my experience from being paired up with many other people that very few are really honest about their golf game. Most people think nothing of moving their ball from a bad lie, not counting lost ball and lateral strokes, taking muligans and giving and taking "gimmies" that are not really gimmies. I have played with people who’s final score was off by as much as 15 strokes. How can someone who shot a 95 convince themselves they shot an 80? For the sake of pace, I can understand not going back to the tee box on a lost ball, but you still lie 4, whether you hit a provisional or take a drop. Sometimes it’s a little discouraging and you have to wonder if they live their lives like that too.
I think I was behind some of you guys last time I played.
I vote the following as the most bullshit answer so far. Why would someone with a 4 handicap need to take 3 mulligans or "throw his ball" onto the fairway. Puh-lease.
"I play in tournaments and with my friends. Obviously in tournaments i follow the rules, but when i’m with my friends its give and take sometimes we’ll take 3 mulligans off the tee and throw theball into the fairway, the rounds we do this I don’t count towards my handicap, which is an honest 4.3. "
Okay, the extent of my "cheating" would be the foot wedge, if I am on a tree root or somewhere that I can hurt myself by hitting the ball there, I will move it to an area where I will not injure myself.
How do you deal with "cheaters" in golf?
I was just wondering different ways people deal with cheaters in golf, like when someone take about 10 mulligans, shaves 2 points off of every hole, or says certain shots don’t count because it was supposed to be a ‘practice’ swing, or the many other ways.
I just put down what they really got if i have the score card, and since i am on a golf team for my school, when they say they got a 40 (on a 9 hole course) but really got like a 50, i just ignore it because when matches and tournaments come around, they will be suck or do worse than the coaches expected.
How do you deal with cheaters?
yes it is on a high school team
My husband is a nut about this, especially when it is my daughter and I doing the cheating. He simply has zero sense of humor in this area.
With us, he gets nowhere. With the ‘guys,’ he uses his talent. My husband has a control of personal gas that would impress a 14 year old. He makes sure to give the offender as disgusting a time as he is having. This really, really ticks him off.
He also has refused to play either another round with the offender or to be in their foursome if it is a tournement. Not much help unless you share his talent.
i shot a 98 in golf is that good for my age?
im 14 years old i play a little of and on and my friend and i played 18 holes and i scored 98. Is that good for a 14 year old or should i be doing better. and i counted out of bounds and water hazards and i didn’t do any mulligans
their was a pole a few years ago that statistics show for the common person, only 10% of golfers shoot below a 100. in short great job
