I am trying to qualify for a huge golf tournament over the weekend, or at least it is big too me. I have practiced and my game is good but i just need help controlling the mental aspect. If i have a bad hole, how to put it behind me etc. Any help would be appreciated!!

its just something that you get over over time. two years ago i can remember slamming clubs after a bad hole and just last year my driver finally broke from the abuse. this year though ive learned to just let it go and not worry about a bad hole. one because theres still a lot of golf to be played in the round and you can make up for the bad hole and, two because theres really nothing on the line unless youre maybe trying out for something. there is no money in youth golf. just enjoy the game

I am planning a golf tournament and I need ideas for fun games/contests to be part of the tounament, besides the usual longest drive, closest-to-the-pin, skins, etc.

I’ve played in an outing where they had a dart board set up at a par 3 and for the contest you threw a dart to determine which club you’d use. Getting a Bullseye gave you your choice of club, but then each of the other numbers on the dart board corresponded to another club in the bag.

Since there are 20 numbers on a dart board and only 13 clubs (not counting the putter) in the bag, there were seven numbers on the dart board that were duplicate clubs. If the person got their ball on the green using the club designated by throwing a dart, they won a sleeve of titleist golf balls (donated by a local company with their logo on them).

One final note, the contest shot did not count for their regular shot on the hole, unless the golfer wanted it to. If they didn’t want to use it, they got another shot at the green with their regular club (but the result with their regular club didn’t count toward the contest).

I’ve always dreamed about going to the Masters golf tournament and don’t knwo much about the process of getting tickets. I know that there is a waiting list to get badges but you can’t get on the waiting list. I’m thinking more about either getting them from someon on the street at the tournament or from a ticket broker online. What is the cheapest and easiest way to get them? how much is a reasonable price for a 4 day badge or even just 2 days for Saturday and Sunday?

Tournament tickets are impossible to get but if you are willing to go to a practice round (Monday thru Wednesday) it’s still hard but not impossible. They work it like a lottery. You send in an application form for the next year and they draw out names at random. Maybe you get drawn, maybe you don’t. You just keep sending it in year after year and eventually you get lucky. You can get a copy of the entry form at the Master’s website or the Augusta National website. At least you get to walk the beautiful coarse and see the players up close.

you cannot do this on your own violation of N C A A rules. athletic director or councillor can contact. with your tour play. don’t worry you have been watched people have your name. rules prohibit coaches N C A A talking to you.

I have a friend, John Hogden of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, playing in the British SeniorAmateur golf tournament this week. I cannot locate a site that posts results so I can see how he is doing.

I’m going to a golf tournament at a high end country club in the Palm Springs, California area. I expect the weather to be about 110 degrees. Yikes!

I want to be comfortable, but also look polished. Would it be taboo to wear a casual skirt or dress?

If you still have time to shop, I would go since you will almost definitely look out of place in a casual skirt or dress. Most of the women I see on the golf course wear stuff similar to what the guys wear; polo shirts, khaki shorts or those skirt things with the shorts underneath them. If you have the money and want to fit in, then head out to a golf shop. But you could always come up with someone if you don’t have the time to go wrangle up a new outfit.

Also, google some ladies golf images to get a better idea.

I read somewhere in the past that you can work as a volunteer at the Masters golf tournament, and in exchange you can watch some of the tournament, and even return for a special day to play the course. I can’t find any info on it. I have checked the official masters website. Any ideas?

You have to know somebody very important; otherwise, forget it.
