Where can I find out how fast I swing a golf club?
I can’t figure out what shaft flex to get on the new driver that I want to buy. Can I go to any golf store like Golf Galaxy to find out how fast I swing because I want this driver to be right.
Thanks!
Golf Galaxy (or D1ck’s, Golfsmith or Edwinn Watts if they’re in your area) should be able to help you out. You could also look up an independent club fitter- do a Y! or Google search, since many don’t advertise in the Yellow Books. Most places will charge you to use their launch monitors/simulators- there’s quite an expense to those machines, and it needs to be recouped somehow.
As long as you buy the club from them.

At most Golf Galaxy stores they have simulators that measure your ball speed. They also have conversion charts hanging in the simulators that give you an estimate of your swing speed.. But launch angle is more important.
You can also get your exact swing speed if you do a ball fitting of use a Trackman but those are expensive.

go to dicks sporting goods, tell them you want to try out a club and they will put you in their simulator and it tells you a bunch of stuff.

If you have a indenpendant clubfitter or clubmaker in your area, that oftentimes work seperate from golf shops (often can be located in the phone book), they would probably give you the best advice on a particular shaft to match your swing. Otherwise most higher-end golf shops now have simulators and/or hitting rooms where you can have your swingspeed rated. My adivice, if you’re well above 100mph you can opt for the stiff-flex shaft, if you’re under 100 a R-flex would better suit your purpose.
Otherwise, to correct what a misinformed poster suggested – selecting loft of a driver has nothing to do with swingspeed, as even Tiger Woods plays a 10.5-degree driver.

most major golf retailers today have an on-site swing analyzer that should give you a ball park figure of your swingspeed. just don’t make the mistake of trying to crank up your swing as you will get your max speed, but not one very representative of your true swing.
hey E: the reason you’re getting so many thumbs down is that you give so many poor answers, as you can see you are getting a lot of them from a lot of different people, and showing just how unpopular you are. the other day you were asking about buying a inexpensive all-in-one set of clubs, so I think you would be the worst person to suggest you have any level of expertise or know anything about clubs.
